This photograph was taken in Sanbonmatsu (Nikko), capturing the morning sun shining through the branches and leaves of larch trees ablaze with autumn colors, casting a golden glow. By focusing on the morning light filtering through the slender, needle-like leaves and making the most of the transparency and soft radiance created by the backlighting, I sought to capture the magical autumn foliage of the larch trees—a sight unique to Oku-Nikko.
