This photograph was taken at Kasyōzan Ryūge-in Miroku-ji Temple, capturing the large tengu mask inside the main hall as if peering at it from outside the building. I carefully composed the shot to fully capture its powerful expression. The enormous tengu mask inside the main hall gazes quietly at me. Overwhelmed by its power, I searched for the balance of light and shadow before pressing the shutter. It felt as if I captured more than just a photograph—a "form of prayer." Kashōzan Ryūge-in Miroku-ji Temple, including its stone statue of a crow tengu, is a place with a mysterious power: photographing it helps settle your mind.
