Hana-no-oka Observation Hill|Openness of the hilltop where flowers and mountains overlap.

Enjoy the openness of the highland where flowers and mountain ranges overlap at the Nitaka Observation Hill of Flowers.

The Nasataka Observation Hill of Flowers is a popular photo spot where visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers and scenery. In spring, the hills are brightly decorated with blue carpets of nemophila and rape blossoms, and in summer, large sunflowers shine under the blue sky. In autumn, cosmos bloom in profusion, and other colorful seasonal flowers bloom one after another on this nature-rich hill. Because of its elevated location, the view of the three Jomo Mountains in the distance is spectacular, and the combination of flowers and mountains creates a dynamic picture. Admission and parking are free, so it is easy to visit and take the time to photograph the colorful seasonal scenes.

Key points for photography

The first key to photography is to make the most of the flowers that are the stars of each season. In spring, capture wide shots of blue nemophila and yellow rape blossoms from a low position to create a beautiful contrast between the expanse of the flower field and the sky. For sunflowers in summer, be aware of the direction of the sun and use forward or oblique light to capture the three-dimensional expression of the flowers. For cosmos in the fall, capturing the entire hill and the mountains in the distance from a slightly elevated position will enhance the rhythm of the flowers and the terrain. Aim for soft light in the morning or evening to bring out the colors and create a three-dimensional effect. It is also recommended to take advantage of distant views that are only possible on high ground to express the relationship not only between the flowers but also the surrounding landscape. Try to capture the flowers swaying in the wind and the atmosphere of the season by shooting from various angles while walking.
