This photograph was taken at Kasyōzan Ryūgein Miroku-ji Temple. I shot from a slightly pulled-back position to better convey the appearance of the tengu mask inside the main hall. I hope it conveys at least a little of the solemn atmosphere within the hall.At Kasyōzan Ryūge-in Miroku-ji Temple, a hidden gem photography spot in Gunma, a massive tengu mask—a symbol of tengu worship—is enshrined in the main hall. Its majesty comes through clearly even in photos taken from outside. Shooting from different angles highlights the beautiful play of light and shadow. The stone statue of a crow tengu within the temple grounds exudes a quiet presence, complemented by the seasonal colors.
