Hydrangea along the approach to Omiya Hikawa Shrine|Quiet scenery with green approach and flowers in the rainy season

Hydrangea spot in the rainy season that decorates the historic approach to the temple.

During the rainy season, the approach to Omiya Hikawa Shrine becomes a spot for strolling where you can enjoy the moist seasonal atmosphere of hydrangeas in bloom. The long approach to the shrine is covered with lush greenery, and after the rain, the leaves and hydrangeas shine freshly, creating a more tranquil atmosphere than usual. It is an easy walk from Omiya Station, and the charm of this spot is that you can easily enjoy the seasonal flowers along with your visit to the shrine.

In particular, the blue, purple, and pale pink hydrangea blooming along the approach to the shrine are not too gorgeous, and blend well with the tranquility typical of the shrine. Rather than the overwhelming volume of the flowers as at larger flower viewing spots, it is recommended to enjoy the scenery as a rainy season scene that you can suddenly encounter while strolling along the approach. Even on rainy or cloudy days, the atmosphere is easy to create, and the hydrangea's coloring is moist, making it a good place to take pictures during the rainy season. Saitama City's local information also introduces the colorful hydrangeas that bloom along the Hikawa approach in June.

Key points for photography

The key to photographing hydrangeas is not to show only the hydrangea in a large image, but to include the greenery and depth of the approach to the shrine. Placing the hydrangea in the foreground and blurring the approach and trees in the background will help convey the calm atmosphere typical of Omiya Hikawa Shrine. If it is after a rain, aiming for water droplets on the petals and leaves will create a fresh image that is typical of the rainy season.
