Echigo Hills National Park is a vast national park located in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, where visitors can enjoy flowers and natural scenery throughout the four seasons. From early summer through summer, blue and pink hydrangeas color the park, and visitors can enjoy photographing them from various angles—along stairways, on paths, and atop hills. The park’s expansive grounds offer a sense of openness, and one of its charms is the ability to capture both the hydrangeas and the distant mountains in a single shot.

The key to taking great photos is not just to shoot close-ups of the hydrangeas, but to include the stairs, paths, and the slope of the hill to create a sense of depth.
