This photo was taken at the University of Tokyo's Institute for Ecology and Harmonious Agriculture, capturing a short, dainty lotus flower seen from the side. The angle was chosen to highlight the roundness and softness of the flower, creating a composition of natural beauty. The University of Tokyo's Institute of Ecology and Harmonious Agriculture in Nishi-Tokyo City holds a special exhibition of lotus flowers during the summer. Although it is a research facility, it is open to the public, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy viewing and photographing the flowers in a tranquil environment. The park is lined with short lotus flowers, and unlike the large lotus ponds, visitors can take the time to face each flower from a close distance. The transparency of the buds and petals, as well as the occasional insects that visit, make for a very rich subject for photography. It is also an excellent subject for macro photography. *Only open to the public on special viewing days.
