Satte Gongendo

Tour from cherry blossoms and rape blossoms to hydrangea, hydrangea, hydrangea and higanbana at Kote Gongendo

Kote Gongendo is an attractive spot where visitors can enjoy a variety of floral scenery throughout the four seasons. In spring, a tunnel of cherry blossoms and fields of rape blossoms spread out, creating a vivid contrast of pink and yellow, creating a gorgeous spring-like atmosphere. During the rainy season, hydrangeas (annabelle) adorn the park, creating a tranquil and serene atmosphere in which to stroll and take photographs. In summer, sunflowers are in full bloom all over the park, creating an impressive view of the powerful landscape stretching toward the sun. In autumn, manjusaka (higanbana) flowers spread out like a red carpet, creating a fantastic atmosphere and reminding us of the changing of the seasons. Gongendo, with its different expressions in each season, is a place where visitors can make new discoveries no matter how many times they visit.

Key points for photography

The best time to photograph cherry blossoms and rape blossoms is first thing in the morning, when the air is clear and the scenery is bathed in soft light. For sunflowers, it is good to take colorful pictures in the morning with forward light, but in the evening, you can aim for a dramatic shot by combining backlighting and sunset. For higanbana, the light coming through the trees in the evening is very beautiful, and the time of day when the red color of the flowers stands out is recommended. Hydrangeas can be photographed in steady daylight to beautifully express the colors and textures of the flowers.
