Encounter a special spring scene of ancient tombs, lone cherry blossoms, and rape blossoms at the Saitama Kofun Tombs
The cherry tree standing at the top of one of the largest tombs in the Saitama Tumulus Group offers a special view unique to this location in spring. The combination of the powerful form of the burial mound, the rape blossoms surrounding it, and the single cherry blossom facing the sky is a sight that is hard to find anywhere else. The contrast between the ancient burial mounds, which remind us of the weight of history, and the spring flowers is beautiful, and just walking along the path is a calming and peaceful experience. This is the perfect place for a spring stroll, where you can gradually savor the arrival of the season in a place that is neither too gorgeous nor too quiet.
Key points for photography
The key to this shot was to be conscious of the balance between the arrangement of the rape blossoms and cherry blossoms, and to include in the composition a staircase leading up to the burial mound. By placing the rape blossoms in the foreground, the burial mound in the background, and the cherry blossoms at the top of the mound in stages, a picture with depth and a sense of narrative is created. The inclusion of the staircase creates a line of sight and makes it easier for the entire landscape to come together naturally.
