Capturing the spring colors of plum blossoms, Kawazu cherry blossoms, and rape blossoms in Minogo Plum Grove
Minogo Plum Grove is known as one of the largest plum groves in Gunma Prefecture. When the best time to view the ume blossoms, the entire slope is covered with white and light red ume blossoms, creating a beautiful scene as if a carpet of flowers were laid over the area. The pink Kawazu cherry blossoms and bright yellow rape blossoms also bloom in the park, creating a gorgeous scene of the three colors of spring. The flowers bloom at different heights and in different locations, naturally creating depth and balance in a photograph, resulting in a spring-like picture.
Key points for photography
The key to taking photographs is to take advantage of the slopes of the Minogo Plum Grove and to be conscious of depth by arranging flowers in the foreground, middle ground, and background. While white and light red plum blossoms are the main subjects, adding Kawazu cherry blossoms and rape blossoms, depending on the location, will create a spring-like layering of colors. Looking down from a slightly elevated position, or conversely, looking up, will convey the expanse of the carpet of flowers in a more impressive manner.
