Photographing the moon is a fascinating world that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to veterans. Particularly recommended are the days one or two days before a full moon, or the first and last quarters. Just before a full moon, the moon's surface shines brightest, and its slight crescent shape makes the craters' contours appear three-dimensional. Furthermore, during the first and last quarters, the boundary between light and shadow—known as the "terminator line"—appears sharply defined, rendering the moon's terrain more dramatically.
