This photograph was taken in Sanbonmatsu (Nikko), capturing the golden autumn foliage of the larch trees from a perspective that looks up at them from below. By focusing on the trunks reaching toward the sky, the spreading branches, and the beautiful autumn colors created by the delicate needles, I sought to capture both the sense of openness in the autumn forest of Oku-Nikko and the delicate beauty unique to larch trees.
