This photograph was taken in Nagano Prefecture and captures a rice paddy with ripening ears of rice and the large, summery clouds spreading out above it. By combining the green of the paddy, which is beginning to bear fruit, with the large clouds floating in the sky, I aimed to convey the sense of openness characteristic of Nagano Prefecture’s summer countryside.
