Short, pretty lotus flowers photographed at the University of Tokyo's Institute for Ecology and Harmonious Agriculture.

This photo was taken at the University of Tokyo's Institute for Ecology and Harmonious Agriculture and shows short, lovely lotus flowers. By blurring the flowers in the foreground and focusing on the flowers in the background, a three-dimensional effect and depth are expressed. The University of Tokyo's Institute of Ecology and Harmonious Agriculture, located in Nishi-Tokyo City, holds a special exhibition of lotus flowers during the summer. Although a research institute, this place, open to the public, is a secluded location where visitors can enjoy the flowers in a relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is filled with short, dainty lotus flowers. Unlike the large lotus pond, you can get very close to each flower, and depending on the light and angle, you can see a variety of different expressions. The buds at the beginning of bloom, the translucent texture of the petals, and insects perching on the flowers are all attractive subjects. It is also a perfect environment for macro photography. *Admission is available only on special open days.
