This photo was taken from a classic vantage point at Chidorigafuchi. The cherry blossoms blooming along the water's edge spread out across the landscape, creating a scene that soothes the soul no matter how many times you see it. When it comes to iconic spring scenery in Tokyo, Chidorigafuchi's cherry blossoms truly stand out. Stretching along the west side of the Imperial Palace, this area features some 700 meters of Somei-Yoshino cherry trees extending their branches over the water, creating a tunnel-like vista of blossoms.Recommended photo spots include compositions with the waterway and passing boats as a backdrop, or angles looking down on the cherry tree avenue from the slope above. While the contrast with a clear blue sky is beautiful, shooting in the soft light of cloudy days or dusk brings out a more serene and atmospheric feel.
