This photo was taken together with a view of weeping cherry blossoms and the Sensoji temple grounds. I was conscious of conveying both the liveliness and serenity of spring at the same time. At Hodan-ji Temple, weeping cherry trees swaying in the wind bloom as if enveloping a Buddhist statue, creating a quiet and somehow nostalgic spring scene. The sense that time seems to be passing slowly makes for a relaxing and heartwarming photographic experience. In particular, the oblique light shining through in the morning and evening gently illuminates the petals, creating a striking contrast with the Buddha image.
