Held annually from February to March, this Plum Festival is a popular event in Tokyo, attracting many visitors who come to see the plum blossoms in full bloom within the shrine grounds. Among them, the magnificent weeping plum trees are particularly striking, their graceful forms further enhancing the spring scenery.Kameido Tenjin Shrine, also known as "Higashi-Dazaifu Tenmangu," is a shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of learning. Numerous plum trees are planted within the grounds, with red, white, and pale pink plum blossoms blooming one after another. The weeping plum trees, in particular, captivate visitors with their beauty: slender branches cascade down like waterfalls, adorned with fluffy, fully bloomed flowers.
