This photo was taken at Satte Gongendo in the soft early autumn light of beautiful white and red manjusaka (higanbana) flowers blooming near the stairs. The vivid contrast is impressive. Photographing higanbana (manjusaka) at Kote Gongendo is one of the best spots in the Kanto region. Usually from mid to late September, bright red flowers bloom all along the bank, and the slanting light, especially at dusk, brings out the red color of the flowers even more vividly.
